Tristan Findley

Tristan’s Weekday job is Systems Administrator for the Information Security Group and Mathematics Department, Royal Holloway University of London in a team of four, supporting between 200-300 users (Undergraduates, Postgraduate, & Academic/Admin Staff). The department operates  outside of the central universities IT infrastructure, supporting our own desktops and servers. Technology wise, the department support Debian & Ubuntu Linux in the back-end, with Windows XP and Ubuntu in the front-end. In addition to this, Tristan is currently under a support contract for the VOME group within our department.

Photography

Tristan has had a strong interest in photography, wanting to take up his fathers interest from a young age. First picking up a camera when he was the age of six, his enjoyment of photography grew with him over the years. He has been a digital photographing since early 2005, when he bought his first camera capable of full manual photography. In 2006 Tristan purchased his first DSLR (digital single lens reflex), and his photography took off to a whole new level. Four years and three camera later, Tristan has started his own company, Alopex Productions, and currently works for various clients, most noticeably in the film industry, handling set photography, actor / crew portraiture, and continuity photography. He quickly established a strong working relationship with directors, crew and actors, and is often recommended by them to others.

Tristan enjoys a close working relationship with the movie production company After Dark Productions, functioning as their stills photographer and working closely with the script supervisor and directors to manage scene continuity, taking shots of the actors and crew for their portfolios, and working to create posters for the productions. Tristan has also worked for other production companies such as Film Theatre and Kinetic Energy Films, working on adverts, short movies, feature films, and music videos.

In addition to film photography, Tristan has also started his career in Wildlife photography, starting with his work at the UK Wolf Trust during 2010.

To this date, Tristan’s work has appeared in many places, most noticeably the UK Wolf Conservation Trust, multiple publications by Royal Holloway University of London, the Karluk Husky website, and various newspapers. In 2011 his work has featured on the final production of ‘The Sofa’ and ‘Heroin(e)’by After Dark Productions, ‘Kretzinger’s Waltz’ by Kinetic Energy Films and ‘Dead Crazy’ by Film Theatre.

Tristan also attends Canon Experience seminars to add new skills, as well as improve his existing talents. He also enjoys learning and getting inspiration from his peers, as well as continually developing his skills through self-growth and experimentation.

Alopex Productions

Tristan founded Alopex Productions in early 2010 to share his work with the world. He enjoys working with many diverse people, companies, organisations and groups, applying himself enthusiastically and fully to the job at hand.

His personal and hands-on approach with the customers of Alopex Productions ensuring a friendly and professional service each and every time.
