Lizzie Coles-Kemp
Lizzie is a socio-technical researcher who has worked with information security, privacy and technology since 1991. She has a B.A (Hons) in Scandinavian Studies and Linguistics, an MSc in Information Security and a PhD in the design of information security management systems. She worked in the security software industry for seven years, specialising in UNIX access control software. In 1997 Lizzie became the global IT Security Officer for the British Council and completed the Information Security MSc at Royal Holloway. For eight years she was a Lead Assessor for Lloyds Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) auditing organisations to ISO/IEC 27001 and tScheme. She now works for the Information Security Group (Royal Holloway) as a lecturer and researcher. She teaches information governance and security management for the BSc in Biomedical Informatics which is a collaborative programme between St George’s, University of London, Kingston University and Royal Holloway. Her academic research interest is socio-technical studies in information security and security management process design. She organises a socio-technical study group specialising in information security and privacy and is interested in mixed method research design.
